Meet Orla Lyons – Plusvital’s New Sales Manager for Australia & New Zealand

Plusvital Australia and New Zealand are excited to welcome Orla Lyons to the team as our new representative, bringing her passion for equine nutrition and horse health to riders, retailers and trainers across Australia.

Orla’s journey in the equine world began with a BSc in Equine Science from Aberystwyth University in Wales, where her thesis explored the Equinome Speed Gene and its role in performance—an area Plusvital continues to be closely involved with. She went on to gain hands-on industry experience working on stud farms as a Foaling Manager in both New Zealand and Scone, before joining Pryde’s EasiFeed in 2016.

During her eight years with Pryde’s, Orla covered key NSW clients and developed a deep understanding of feed formulation under the guidance of Peter Pryde. She also had the privilege to work alongside Nerida from Equilize Nutrition, one of Australasia’s leading equine nutritionists, further strengthening her practical and applied nutrition knowledge.

Those who know Orla best describe her as passionate, dedicated, and always willing to go the extra mile for her clients. Outside of work, she enjoys photography and spending time with her horses and dogs, often accompanied at events by her two stock horses Bravo and her not so little, Little Duck. Fun fact: many people who meet Orla are more familiar with her dog Sooty than with Orla herself.

As Orla hits the road across Australia, she’s looking forward to sharing Plusvital’s expertise, educating on equine nutrition, and building strong connections with riders, retailers, trainers and breeders. Keep an eye out—you may see her at your next event or visiting your stable.
